Irvine Welsh has issued a stark warning to fans of his successful ITV drama Crime, which has just launched its second series.The author of Trainspotting has cautioned that the new instalment will take a much "darker" turn.
The series follows Detective Inspector Ray Lennox, played by Dougray Scott, as he delves into the assault of an ex-colleague, with Lennox and his partner Drummond quickly discovering that things aren't quite what they seem.It's described by ITV as a narrative exploring "case about vengeance, identity, and social justice", reports the Mirror.Welsh himself has taken to Twitter to alert viewers about the upcoming twists, writing: "Crime 2 Episode 2 is on soon at 9.00pm on @ITV.
It is set to get much darker and funnier. Let's see if Lennox* gets the villain, gets laid or goes back the gear and gets his jotters. *No Jambos were harmed in the making of this show."
