Gisele Bundchen has donated $1 million for a kids’ center at the country’s largest women’s shelter, the Miami chapter of Lotus House.
The 42-year-old supermodel broke ground on the new 71,000 square foot five-story development called The Children’s Village. “I have no words to express my gratitude for places like the @lotushouseshelter, the largest women’s shelter in America, as they provide a haven that allows women and children to heal, reclaim their lives, and build a foundation for the future,” Gisele wrote on Instagram. Keep reading to find out more… “I am grateful to help fund the building of the new Children’s Village, which will bring education and play, creating new possibilities for children in need,” she continued.
Lotus House founder Constance Collins released a statement and said (per the Commercial Observer), “In the Children’s Village, we are taking another step forward, preventing homelessness and uplifting our community, by empowering children and families with enriched educational and therapeutic supports, exciting and diverse programming for kids, and greater access to health and social services and community resources.” Last month, Gisele opened up in her first major, candid interview after the split from her husband Tom Brady.
