If you've got a Freeview TV and have noticed that the screen resolution isn't as clear as it normally is, it may be down to the scorching weather. The current heatwave being experienced by much of the UK is reportedly wreaking havoc on Freeview signals for millions of customers, disrupting people's nightly entertainment fix.

Customers have been reporting issues with their televisions for three weeks now, and the TV company has warned that the problems are likely to last another couple of days at least. The Mirror reports that the current area of high pressure causing the heatwave is also interrupting TV signals that allow people to watch and stream content.

And it's going to last a few days longer, as Freeview has said in an update on its blog page. "Freeview viewers across parts of the country could see some disruption to their TV reception between Tuesday 13th June and Sunday 18th June," Freeview explained. "This is due to high pressure which could disrupt the TV signals which Freeview uses." Unfortunately there's nothing customers can do to stop their TVs glitching until there's a change in the weather.

Users are also warned not to try and re-tune their appliance, because it can take some time, and the same problems will still persist afterwards. "You are advised not to retune your TV during this time - reception will be restored once the high pressure passes," Freeview added.Thankfully there are some ways around this so you can still enjoy watching TV while the heatwave continues.
