Renfrewshire politicians join forces in bid to save 700 axed Rolls-Royce jobs
Renfrewshire have joined forces in a bid to save axed Rolls-Royce jobs, saying the loss of workforce will “rip the heart out” of the historic industry. Gavin Newlands MP, Ross Greer MSP, Maurice Corry MSP and Neil Bibby MSP have all condemned the announcement that Rolls-Royce would be cutting 700 of its employed from the company’s plant in Inchinnan.Half of the Renfrewshire plant’s 1,300 strong workforce is set to be axed, in a move that all four MPs have branded “devastating”.The company blamed the job losses on the coronavirus pandemic and warned its entire service division at Inchinnan would go.
