Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's infamous Oprah Winfrey interview in March 2021 has left a royal expert suggesting that the duchess should have shown "restraint" which may have stopped the couple being 'cut off' from the Royal Family. In the two hour special which was highly anticipated by Sussex fans, the former royal couple opened up about all of their issues and experiences they had during their time in the Firm. These stemmed from lack of protection and discussions of an unborn Prince Archie's skin colour to the Royal Family showing their support for Meghan when she experienced suicidal thoughts.
The bombshell chat was their first interview since stepping down as senior royals back in early 2020.At the time, the palace issued a statement on behalf of the late Queen Elizabeth II, the Mirror reports.
The statement said the palace was "saddened" to learn what happened to Harry and Meghan and the matter of race was "concerning."The rest of the statement read, "While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.
Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members." The tension between Harry and Meghan and the Royal Family still continues over three years later, specifically between the Sussexes' and Prince William and Kate Middleton.Speaking to the Mirror about the Oprah interview, royal expert and author Tom Quinn claims that if "restraint" was shown by Prince Harry and Meghan in that interview, then the Royal Family may not have isolated the couple.Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to
