Emergency services descended on a country park following reports someone had entered the water. Police, ambulances and fire crews were all called out to Reddish Vale Country Park, in Stockport, this evening (November 13).
Firefighters were called out to assist the search shortly before 7pm. Eyewitnesses reported seeing around 15 emergency response vehicles heading through Reddish towards the park.
The Manchester Evening News understands a drone was used as part of the effort to locate the person. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) says the person was eventually found and brought to safety, before being tended to by paramedics. Crews arrived quickly and assisted Greater Manchester Police in rescuing the person from the water. "They were then transferred to the care of North West Ambulance Service.
