Council boss pays tribute to 'loving' boy Kayden Frank after murder

The boss of children's service at Renfrewshire Council had paid tribute to a four-year-old boy who was murdered in Paisley, describing him as having a “big, loving heart”.

Kayden Frank was found dead at a property in Argyle Street along with a 38-year-old man on Monday evening. Following a post mortem examination, his death is being treated as murder.

A 38-year-old man, named locally as Steven Frank, was also found dead at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious, and police say they have no information to suggest anyone else has been involved.

Steven Quinn, the council’s director of children’s services, spoke before a meeting of the education and children’s services policy board earlier.He confirmed Kayden was “known to social work” and relayed a tribute from management at his early learning and childcare centre, which said he had an “amazing sense of humour” and was always “smiling, singing and dancing”.Mr Quinn told elected members: “First of all, it is with great sorrow I speak to you this afternoon to let you know that one of Renfrewshire’s children Kayden Frank, aged four, has very sadly died.“Kayden was known to social work and also attended Douglas Street nursery and has been described by his head of centre as a lovely boy, endowed with an amazing sense of humour, always smiling, singing and dancing.
