And if you want to avoid using harsh chemicals to tackle the job, white vinegar can work well to eliminate odours - but it's often paired with another staple, and the combination of the two won't clear your drain.
That's according to the 'Queen of Clean' Lynsey Crombie, who recently appeared on This Morning with Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond to talk all things cleaning and how to get the best results.
The Express reports that the cleaning whizz discussed the best way to unclog drains at home, and suggested using a drain snake unblocker to pull dirt, hair and grime out of the plughole.
