Troubled Scots pop star Finley Quaye has been ordered to return to court for sentencing over a domestic offence.The Edinburgh-born singer appeared at the city’s sheriff court on Monday after pleading guilty last month.But sentencing was delayed until next month after the court learned reports in the case had not been prepared.The 49-year-old had previously admitted causing damage to a property during a domestic disturbance.Quaye turned up at his former partner’s home in the capital’s Newington area and forced open the flat’s locked front door.The musician, who won the 1998 Brit Award for best male solo artist, shouted and acted aggressively toward the woman.Quaye threw chairs and flowers and smashed a number of glasses within her home, according to court papers.He was arrested following the incident on July 15 and spent the weekend in police custody.Quaye, from Kensington, London, admitted two offences aggravated by involving the abuse of a partner, or ex-partner.He pled guilty to wilfully or recklessly destroying property belonging to another and forcing open a door of the premises while it was locked.Quaye also admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner toward ex-partner and throwing chairs, flowers and smashing a number of glasses within the premises.Quaye was once the golden boy of British music.His 1997 album Maverick a Strike went double platinum and singles Even after All, Sunday Shining and Your Love Gets Sweeter led to his Brits success.But since his 1990s heyday, he has racked up a string of convictions.In 2019, a court heard Quaye had 14 previous ­convictions related to alcohol.Quaye was found guilty of a charge of aggravated assault following an incident in Edinburgh in 2012.He was sentenced to
