Ryan Fraser is reportedly a Celtic transfer target as Eddie Howe looks to shift the winger off his Newcastle United books. The Scotland international hasn't kicked a first team ball in anger for the Toon since last October and has been training with the club's development squad after falling out of favour with the boss he worked with closely at Bournemouth.

He has not featured in any senior pre-season games this summer, and has been stripped of his squad number of 21. It's suggested by the Northern Echo that "Celtic are lining up a move" for Fraser with his time at St James' at an end.

They state the Premiership champions 'are ready to make a formal approach in an attempt to take him to Parkhead' and 'Newcastle are unlikely to demand a significant transfer fee' because they just want to bring an end to the situation and get him off their books. With all this in mind, Parkhead boss Brendan Rodgers has identified Fraser "as a viable target".Celtic lost Jota from their flank department to Al Ittihad earlier this summer although they have added Yang Hyun-jun and Marco Tilio.
