One fan favourite is Sister Monica Joan, played by Judy Parfitt, who has been part of the show since it began in 2012. Last week, the Sister was seen rescuing a dog who had hurt his paw.
The Call the Midwife official Instagram account shared a clip from the episode and it prompted a number of replies from fans asking for a prequel series about Sister Joan.
