Brazen thieves have been caught on CCTV rifling through staff coats in search of money and stealing tips from a Scots chippy.Several incidents have reportedly taken place at different branches of the Blue Lagoon in Glasgow.
The first incident occurred on July 11 at Gordon Street when staff had more than £100 of tips stolen. Three more incidents followed, with wallets stolen from staff at the same branch on November 5, cash taken from the Argyle Street store on November 7.Queens staff's belongings were then searched with tips stolen on November 10.Manager Alessandro told how thieves posed as customers, asking to use the toilet before rummaging through staff belongings.
Speaking to Glasgow Live, Alessandro said: "The first incident was in July when somebody came in towards midnight and had been scoping out the shop for a bit and saw where staff held the tips.
They pounced one moment when there was no staff in the restaurant and stole the jar of tips. It had around £100 in it. "Since then, in the last week, we’ve experienced various incidents.
