Police find body in search for missing Pitcairngreen pensioner Pauline Alston
dailyrecord.co.ukA family who were searching for a missing elderly relative in the Pitcairngreen area of Perth this past week have been told that police have found a body.
The find was made around 4.45pm on Friday, November 17. Officers in Perth had been trying to trace Pauline Alston (77) who has been reported missing on Sunday evening.
Pauline, the wife of 82-year-old Alistair Alston was last seen at their home in the village of Pitcairngreen near Perth around 5pm on Sunday, November 12.Police began searching the fields and river around their farmhouse early on Monday morning.Her family made appeals for help to find her and said they were "baffled" about what had happened.
An appeal was made on Monday. Inspector James Longden of Tayside Police said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Pauline and I urge people in the Pitcairngreen area to check gardens and outbuildings. “The weather has been cold and wet, and Pauline may have sought shelter.”In the anxious days that followed, Pauline’s picture was posted around the pleasant Perthshire village by worried relatives.Pauline had lived at Dalcrue Farm for 50 years and was described by her nephew Gavin McPherson as “a highly capable person, a force”.Gavin left work in Helensburgh and came to help look for his auntie. “She was so well-loved.
