The story of a young Scots carer on BBC's Children In Need left viewers emotional. Jessica, 11, featured on the charity show on Friday night as she spoke about looking after her mum - something she has been doing since she was just three.Jessica works with PKAVS, a remarkable Perthshire charity that works with over 700 young carers across the country offering support all the year round and breaks from their role at home with fun outings to theme parks and other activities. She took on the selfless role as a youngster after her mum's condition deteriorated following Jessica's birth.
The issues started when the epidural hit her mum's spinal cord.Jessica, telling her story, said: "I love writing and doing art and I live with my mum and pets.
I love being with the animals - It takes my mind off things sometimes."Her mum explained: "Jessica has been my carer since she was three years old.
When I was pregnant I was advised to have a section, they did the epidural and because I had an abnormally long spinal cord which they weren't aware of and neither was I, the needle had gone through into it."It was just instant unbelievable pain.
