Big Brother star Hallie Clarke's mum has revealed that she was beaten up in a transphobic attack at school when she was just 12 years old.The now 18-year-old has bravely opened up about her journey as a trans woman on the ITV2 reboot, coming out to her housemates on her second day on the show, stating she wanted to be "100% authentic." She has since shared that if she were to win the show's £100,000 prize fund, she would use her winnings to undergo gender affirming surgery.
Hallie's mum Samantha has now opened up on the shocking ordeal she faced at school after returning from the summer holidays wearing female uniform.
Samantha told the Mirror: "Some boys were waiting at the bottom of the stairs and when she came down they kicked her and stamped on her." She continued to tell the publication how her classmates would tell her "you're a man" and "you're a boy" in an attempt to hurt Hallie.Thankfully, school did get better for the youth worker and, three years later, she was voted prom queen by her peers.
Samantha said: "I picked her up and she came prancing towards the car with her crown on." Earlier this week, Big Brother viewers were moved to tears as Hallie broke down while discussing her gender dysphoria with fellow housemate Noky Simbani.
