Amanda Abbington made no mention of Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night, just days after she withdrew from the BBC dancing show, citing "personal reasons" as the reason for her exit. The Sherlock actress, 51, appeared to be enjoying some Halloween festivities, with some pals including actor and writer Simon Pegg, to whom she penned a sweet 14 word tribute on 28 October. The duo posed for a photo together, first shared to Simon's Instagram Story, to which he added the text: "Friends for 25 years.
Love you @amanda_abbington74." Resharing the snap to her own Instagram story, Amanda added: "I love you too dear friend.Thank you for the most wonderful 25 years", which she followed with a trio of brown heart emojis.
She later posted another picture of her partner Jonathan Goodwin snuggling with their pet dog, saying: "Find someone who looks at you the way Maple looks at Jonathan...." Amanda was supposed to return to the dance floor this weekend after missing last week's show due to "medical reasons".
However, earlier this week it was announced that she would be leaving the BBC One dance contest for "personal reasons". On Monday night's episode of the Strictly spin-off show, It Takes Two, it was confirmed that Amanda would be stepping down before she spoke about her departure the next day.
