Teenagers in Glasgow are being forced to deal drugs for criminal gangs who are using "fake Deliveroo workers" to watch out for police.
A police inspector has warned there is concern over teenagers being exploited and held against their will to deal drugs in the city.
Speaking at a community meeting, Inspector Ian Scott said "fake Deliveroo drivers" act as "spotters" for crime groups and added drug dealing activity is a "concern" and "organised groups are behind it".Illegal substances are reportedly being sold in the Bridge Street and Carlton Place areas on the south side of the river Clyde, Glasgow Live reports.
Criminals are also moving in and out of buildings to avoid getting caught by police. Inspector Scott said that there are "concerns about young African males" being forced to deal from premises or on the street, adding: "They are being held against their will for a period of time to deal on behalf of the criminals."Police are working with partners to support young people affected and to disrupt illegal activities.
