Barbie‘s exact age has always been a mystery but the blockbuster-starring doll grows at least a few years older in a new collection announced Tuesday, July 30.
The “Dream Besties” collection features four new dolls targeted towards older fans, each carrying their own unique career aspirations, hobbies, personalities and styles.
The lineup includes: Barbie “Malibu” Roberts, who dreams of being the CEO and founder of her own makeup empire; Barbie “Brooklyn” Roberts, who dreams of becoming a world-famous choreographer; Teresa Rivera, who dreams of starting her own video game company; and Renee Chao, who dreams of hosting a food and travel show. “Barbie Dream Besties is a new line designed to give fans a break-frame way to engage and play with their favorite Barbie characters in a dynamic new world,” Krista Berger, senior vice president of Barbie and global head of dolls at Mattel, said in a statement. “At Barbie, our mission is to inspire and empower the next generation, and the Barbie Dream Besties are a vibrant, trendy testament to that commitment.
