Grealish, an unused substitute on the day, was involved in a fiery end to the game as Kyle Walker led heated objections to the behaviour of a former City coach now working for Arsenal.
Speaking on England duty, Grealish said that defeat had been hard to take but that Rice had helped him to get over the defeat as they met up at the national team camp.
The City forward picked up an assist in the 1-0 win over Australia and will hope for more minutes against Italy before returning to the Blues with more fitness following his latest injury.
