Dozens of buses serving communities across Greater Manchester have been hit by delays after a horror lunchtime crash opposite the bus station at Piccadilly Gardens.
A single-decker Diamond bus - the X50 service to the Trafford Centre - ploughed into the front of the newly-opened T4 tea shop on Parker Street, which runs adjacent to the station near the entrance to the City Tower office block.
North West Ambulance Service confirmed 'a number of casualties', but said it couldn't, as yet, give further details on how many people have been taken to hospital as a result.
The Manchester Evening News understands multiple people have been injured in the collision this afternoon. The nature of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.
