Manchester United reached the finals of both domestic cup competitions and qualified for Champions League football last season, but Diogo Dalot has demanded more from his teammates for the new campaign.
It's been a decade since the Premier League title was last won at Old Trafford and Dalot, speaking on the pre-season tour of the USA, admitted the players are aware of the expectation of winning silverware.
Erik ten Hag ended the club's longest trophy drought for over 40 years by lifting the Carabao Cup last season and the manager's promising first year in charge suggests United are heading in the right direction again. "[Last season] brings us momentum, energy as well, to look back on what we did last year,” Dalot said in San Diego. "It has to bring us energy to build even more, to raise the bar a little bit higher.
I think we have all the conditions to give a little bit more and plus, so we can even get better from what we did last year. "It doesn’t fully [reflect] on the entire success that this football club works for and deserves.
