We have all felt the pain of losing a loved one, using the time after to mourn and remember the life of those we had lost. But when that person has had a lasting impact on the community around them, it becomes even more difficult.

One brilliant family has used the death of their mother as a chance “to help people who would've been in the same position.” The three siblings, Ashley, Jessica and Beth lost their mum, Michelle Done, after she suffered a brain aneurysm that led to her untimely death.

The trio used the fundraiser as an opportunity to make a positive situation out of the death as they raised £1300 for Headway Salford. READ MORE: Salford council 'exploring plan' to buy second shopping centre After a fall, Michelle was found to have had a pre-existing brain aneurysm that remained dormant, and after being placed in critical care she was slowly returning to full health.

But after a secondary bleed on the brain, before it had repaired fully, she unfortunately died on the 21st June 2023, sending the family into a "whirlwind of emotions, and a whirlwind of a year.” After her death the family wanted to turn their pain and loss into positive action, and after they were made aware that if she had survived, she would have gone to Headway Salford.
