Thugs who chased each other after a crash in Oldham were brandishing machetes and bats it has now been revealed. It happened on Yorkshire Street in the town centre yesterday evening (Sunday).
Two cars were involved in a smash on the busy high street. The occupants of both vehicles then got out and proceeded to chase each other on foot brandishing then unspecified weapons, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
The force has now confirmed that witnesses identified the weapons they were carrying as being machetes and bats. They also confirmed no arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident. Armed officers were among those who responded with a cordon being put in place on both Yorkshire Street and Horsedge Street for several hours.
