A councillor has failed for the second time to get his OWN planning committee to approve the use of plastic window frames in his historic £800,000 home.
Trafford’s planning committee agreed with their officers’ recommendation to refuse Coun Phil Eckersley’s bid to get approval for the uPVC frames - which he has already installed on the Grange Road, Bowdon home.
It means Coun Eckersley must spend thousands of pounds replacing the new window frames with hardwood frames or take the matter to appeal in front of a planning inspector.
Members of the committee were told how the new frames breached the regulations of the Bowdon Conservation Area which came into force in 2016.
