Queen Camilla turned heads in a stunning pink ensemble as she attended the UK's national memorial service marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings on Wednesday June 5.The 76 year old Royal stood out amidst a sea of dark suits and military uniforms, opting for a pale pink coat dress and stylish hat in the same vibrant shade.
She was seen paying her respects alongside her husband King Charles and stepson Prince William at the poignant event on June 5.Typically, the Royal family dons black or other dark shades for remembrance services, such as when they lay wreaths at the Cenotaph every Remembrance Sunday to honour fallen soldiers.
However, Camilla's daring outfit choice had two very touching reasons behind it. As part of the memorial proceedings, King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Prince William will travel to Normandy, France on Thursday to continue commemorating the D-Day landings that altered the course of history and contributed to winning World War II.
It's believed that the Queen's pink outfit was a subtle nod to the neighbouring nation, as it was the same outfit she wore last year during her state visit to France.
