Naman Ramachandran Studiocanal and Working Title have unveiled the official trailer for Shekhar Kapur’s keenly anticipated cross-cultural British romantic comedy “What’s Love Got to Do with It?” The film will have its world premiere as a gala presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 10. It follows documentary-maker and dating app addict Zoe (Lily James), for whom swiping right has only delivered an endless stream of Mr. Wrongs, to her eccentric mother Cath’s (Emma Thompson) dismay. For Zoe’s childhood friend and neighbor Kaz (Shazad Latif), the answer is to follow his parents’ example and opt for an arranged (or “assisted”) marriage to Maymouna (Sajal Aly), a bright and beautiful bride from Pakistan. As Zoe films Kaz’s journey from London to Lahore to marry a stranger, chosen by his parents, she begins to wonder if she might have something to learn from a profoundly different approach to finding love.

RAYE, Sampha and Yussef Dayes leading nominees.The nominees were announced today (April 23) in eight categories including the Best Album, Best Contemporary Song and the Rising Star Award with Amazon Music. The awards ceremony with Amazon Music will take place on May 23 at Grosvenor House.Sampha and Yussef Dayes have the most nominations with two each; each artist is contending for a Best Album award for their respective records ‘Lahai‘ and ‘Black Classical Music’.

All Saints‘ Shaznay Lewis has shared her newest single ‘Miracle’, marking her first solo release in 20 years.The track is a blend of pop and R&B and sees Lewis sing: “And you’ll find me / Rising where we fall / In a sunlit dream / Where nobody has been before / And it’s like nothing that you’ve seen / I can explain it all / No timе to be cynical / Right now, we need a miracle”.Speaking about the track in a press release, Lewis said: “‘Miracle’ was a journey, a relentless writing process between Emily Phillips and me. We pushed each other, we changed it a lot, and when I finally listened to it I realised it was a love song to myself, about the person I’ve been for the past 25 years and where I am now.”She continued: “It’s a message of encouragement to return to my love of writing with self-esteem, and confidence in the way that made me happy.”‘Miracle’ serves as a re-introduction to Lewis who enjoyed huge success as a member and lead songwriter of the all girl pop group All Saints from the early 00s.

Richard Ashcroft has announced details of a huge outdoor show, set to take place in London next summer.The announcement comes as the singer-songwriter has been revealed as the latest addition to the upcoming Kew The Music live music event, held in South West London.Set to take place over the summer, the week-long event will return to the UNESCO World Heritage site, Kew Gardens, between July 8 and July 12, 2024.For his appearance at next year’s instalment, Ashcroft will appear as the final headliner at the event and is set to take to the stage on the last day, Sunday, July 14.The upcoming set follows the two-time Ivor Novello winner’s work with The Verve over the years, as well as his run of solo albums, the most recent of which was his sixth solo LP, ‘Acoustic Hymns Vol. 1’, which arrived back in 2021.As well as Ashcroft, other artists set to appear as headliners for the 2024 edition of Kew The Music include pop singer Mika, who will headline the event on Tuesday, July 9, and Passenger who will take to the stage on Thursday, July 11.Following the recent completion of their 2023 reunion tour, JLS will also be taking to the stage at the London live music event on Friday, July 12, and the upcoming instalment will be opened by British horticulturist, broadcaster, and writer Monty Don, who will be taking part in an ‘Evening In Conversation’ event on Monday, July 8.The headliners for Wednesday (July 10) and Saturday (July 13) are set to be revealed at a later date, as are the guests set to join Ashcroft on the final night of next year’s edition.Tickets for the Richard Ashcroft show will go on pre-sale from tomorrow (December 19) at 10am GMT.

Tom Grennan has announced his biggest headlining show to date at London’s Gunnersbury Park.Taking place on August 10, 2024, the BRIT and Ivor Novello- nominated artist will take over the famous open-air venue with indie favourites Blossoms joining in as opening support. All Points East has confirmed the final acts for its 2023 edition.The festival is due to take place in Victoria Park, east London between August 18 and August 28. Paul McCartney has led tributes to composer Carl Davis, who died aged 86.Davis’ family announced last week (August 3) that the BAFTA-winning composer had died following a brain haemorrhage.Sharing a photo of the two sitting together at the piano, McCartney said of his friend and collaborator: “I was very sad to hear that my friend Carl Davis had passed away.“Carl and I wrote the ‘Liverpool Oratorio’ together. Thania Garcia Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers took home the Ivor Novello award in the coveted songwriter of the year category at the 2023 ceremony on Thursday in London’s Grosvenor House. The event honored 30 music-makers across 14 categories in recognition of songwriting and screen composition. Wet Leg’s self-titled debut album was one of the most-talked-about releases of the last year and earned the indie rockers their first Brit awards and a pair of Grammys. The Ivor judges described Teasdale and Chambers’ writing, citing singles “Wet Dream” and “Chaise Lounge,” as “fresh, unapologetic and direct, with surprising melodies that demand attention.”

Harry Styles were among the stars honoured at this year's Ivor Novello Awards, however both acts failed to attend the ceremony in London on Thursday. Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, the duo behind Wet Leg, weren't at the awards to pick up their Songwriter of the Year award. Grammy award-winning artist Harry, 29, who beat out his competition in the Most Performed Work category for his song As It Was, also failed to attend the event which was hosted at Grosvenor House in person.

Kamille has spoken to NME about her Ivor Novello win, her latest single ‘Muscle Memory’, working with Nile Rodgers and Little Mix, and her thoughts on music created by AI.The artist spoke of how she was “blown away” that she had been honoured with the Outstanding Song Collection at the Ivors ceremony in London today (Thursday May 18).“Being amongst winners like Queen, U2, Noel Gallagher — I’m like, ‘Really? This is ridiculous,’” she said. “I think I’m the youngest Black women to win the award as well, which is mad. A long passionate affair with actor Ivor Novello (Jeremy Irvine) and a somewhat more sensitive and empathetic relationship with Stephen Tennant (Calm Lynch) follow before Sassoon marries Hester Gatty (Kate Phillips) and has a son, George (Richard Goulding).

Adele has reflected on the past year of her life in a social media post marking her 34th birthday.The London singer returned to action in 2021 with the release of her fourth studio album ‘30′ (which was the best-selling LP in the world last year), before going on to win three BRITs at this year’s ceremony.She was, however, forced to postpone her planned Las Vegas residency back in January due to “delivery delays” and COVID-related issues. The singer has since said that the shows will “absolutely 100 per cent” happen this year.Marking her 34th birthday yesterday (May 5), Adele shared a post on her social media channels in which she reflected on how she’s “never been happier” and said: “What a difference a year makes!” “If time keeps healing and smoothing out all the creases in my life like it does as the years fly by, then I can’t wait to be 60!” she wrote.

Harry Styles, Lianne La Havas and Dave were among the winners at the 2021 Ivor Novello Awards, celebrating Britain’s best songwriters and composers during its ceremony last night (September 21).Nominated in the PRS for Music Most Performed Work category, Styles was awarded his first Ivor for ‘Adore You’, the second single from his Grammy-nominated album ‘Fine Line’.The two other big Ivor accolades – Best Album and Best Contemporary Song – were awarded to Lianne La Havas and Dave and Fraser T Smith, respectively.La Havas won in her category for her self-titled third studio album, released in July 2020.
