Local residents in Chorlton have had their say on the 'ambitious' plans to bulldoze its 1970s shopping centre to pave the way for a new 'thriving retail hub'.

The graffiti covered Chorlton Cross shopping centre, beside Wilbraham Road and Barlow Moor Road, is to undergo a major overhaul, compromising of over 200 homes and modern retail spaces.

In an update, the PJ Livesey Group, who are delivering the redevelopment, have said that the initial consultation into the plans had attracted more than 1,000 responses before closing in August. ending in a HUGE pay out It said the main points raised in responses centred on 'the desire to see a diverse retail offer catering for all', with a focus on independent businesses and traders along with new affordable housing, and that the responses indicated that 'local people want to see the site redeveloped'.
