Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to buy a minority stake in Manchester United after his failed Chelsea takeover attempt. The British billionaire made a move for the Blues after Roman Abramovich was forced to leave the club in 2022 because of Russia's war with Ukraine.
This opened the door for Ratcliffe to make an offer for United's Premier League rivals. His statement read: "Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Chairman of INEOS, has made a formal bid for Chelsea FC, for £4.25bn. £2.5bn is committed to the Charitable Trust to support victims of the war, with £1.75bn committed to investment directly into the club over the next 10 years.
