And with the result safely wrapped up, Greg Kiltie poked in at the back post to rub salt in the Perthshire Saints' wounds and ensure all three points were staying in Paisley.
The emphatic win sees St Mirren move level with Rangers on 18 points and grow the gap to their nearest rivals to seven points as their fantastic start to the campaign shows no signs of stopping.
