By the final whistle, the Hoops were on their knees and it could have been even worse than a six-goal hammering but for Joe Hart keeping the score down.
Johnston admitted Atletico were toying with them at times – and he refused to make excuses as Celts went to pieces. It was about as sore as it has ever been in Canadian’s career but he admitted Celtic need to take their dumps and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
