South Lanarkshire Council improves in becoming a pesticide free council

South Lanarkshire Council is making progress on becoming a pesticide-free council.At the Climate Change and Sustainability Committee on February 8, councillors heard of the progress of the council’s grounds team trialling different environmentally-friendly pesticides across the area.As agreed in December 2020, the council’s grounds service undertook a range of trials of alternative methods of weed control.

It has reduced its use of certain pesticides and introduced climate-friendly ones.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
