A group of South Lanarkshire school pupils have won a creative competition to tackle marine litter.Robert Owen Memorial School in Lanark was the winner of the Most Innovative Solution award at the STEM the Flow Engineering Challenge at the Riverside Museum in Glasgow on February 22.In the challenge set by Environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful, the children and young people designed solutions to either reduce the amount of litter already in the River Clyde or prevent it from entering the watercourses in the first place.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

They have really used their creative minds to come up with a solution to tackling marine litter."The teams had to produce a project report, create a display and prepare a presentation as part of the competition.
