FX has finally released its first trailer for Shōgun, its original adaptation of James Clavell’s bestselling novel that was created for television by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks.

The limited series will drop on Hulu in the U.S., as well as Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in all other territories in February of 2024.

FX will also telecast new episodes once each week. FX chief John Landgraf originally announced at TCA that it would premiere this year after filming wrapped during the summer of 2022.

The 10-episode limited series is set in Japan in the year 1600, at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. Producer Hiroyuki Sanada stars as “Lord Yoshii Toranaga” who is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him.
