Marc Malkin Senior Editor, Culture and Events This year’s annual Snixxmas Charity event honoring Naya Rivera features a previously unreleased song by the late “Glee” star. “Prayer for the Broken,” first recorded by Rivera in 2012, now includes background vocals by her “Glee” co-stars Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley, Heather Morris, Vanessa Lengies and Ashley Fink. “Prayer for the Broken” was written by Lindy Robbins and Isaac Hasson.
Proceeds from the song for two weeks will benefit Alexandria House, which provides safe and supportive housing for women and children on their journey from emergency shelter to economic stability and permanent housing. “Prayer for the Broken” can be streamed, downloaded or purchased via music platforms.
Direct donations to Alexandria House can be made at alexandriahouse.org. Rivera was 33 years old when she died after drowning on July 8, 2020, in Lake Piru in Ventura County while boating with her son Josey Hollis Dorsey.
Dorsey, who was four years old at the time, was found sleeping alone on the boat. Rivera’s body was discovered five days later.
