The air ambulance landed in the car park of a Stockport supermarket this afternoon after a woman suffered a 'medical episode' in a B&M store.
Emergency services were called to the shop at 12.21pm after the woman in her 60s fell ill. Paramedic response cars as well as police were seen outside the store and garden centre, which faces the Morrisons store off Stockport Road in Cheadle Heath.
The air ambulance was also seen landing in the car park, and taking off at 1.15pm. It has been confirmed the woman was taken to hospital by road. The Manchester Evening News understands she suffered a heart attack and will now undergo an operation.
The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said: "We responded to a patient suffering a medical incident. They were treated at the scene and transported to hospital by road.
