A manhunt is underway after a car was crashed and abandoned in a busy Scots street. The wrecked vehicle was left blocking a lane after being ditched in Glasgow at the weekend. The blue car, which appears to be a Renault Clio, was deserted in the city's Edinburgh Road on Sunday, June 16.

Police Scotland officers are now trying to trace the male driver responsible for the Father's Day carnage.A picture of the neglected motor shows it was left side-on, blocking the outside lane of the dual carriageway.

The front passenger side wheel was badly damaged, and the rear passenger side wheel was ripped off the vehicle. The car also suffered extensive damage to the rear passenger side door, and the photograph shows that both the front passenger's and driver's airbags had been deployed due to the force of the crash.Glasgow Live reports the incident happened in the east end of the city at around 7.40pm yesterday and resulted in the emergency services being called to the scene.A stretch of the road was cordoned off as police officers began their investigation into the crash, with a police van stationed on site and cones put out in the lead up to the busy junction..Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
