Scam warning issued to residents in Lanarkshire as UK-wide alarm system is tested

Residents in Lanarkshire have been warned to be on their guard for potential scams as the Emergency Alert System is tested this weekend.The mobile phone alert is a loud, siren-like sound, and will include an on-screen message informing the recipient of how they should respond.The UK-wide Emergency Alert System (EAS) service will be used to contact people with advice on how to stay safe in the event that there is a threat to life, and is due to be tested on Sunday, April 23.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
