Prince William and Prince Harry's uncle, who also worked for the late Queen, has died. The husband of William and Harry's aunt Lady Jane Spencer, Lord Robert Fellowes, passed away earlier this week aged 82.
Jane is the older sister of Princess Diana, and had been married to Lord Fellowes for over 40 years. The pair have three children, Laura, Alexander and Eleanor - who are William and Harry's cousins.
Lord Fellowes and Jane's eldest daughter, Laura, is godmother to Princess Charlotte. Lord Fellowes's father was Sir William "Billy" Fellowes, the land agent at Sandringham from 1936 to 1964, and a shooting companion of the Queen's father, King George VI.The Queen visited Lord Fellowes when he was born in 1942, and later famously said of the encounter: "Robert is the only one of my private secretaries I have held in my arms".
Lord Fellowes worked as private secretary to the late Queen for nine years. He was by her side during some of the most dramatic times during the 1990s, from the divorces of the Queen's children, and Princess Diana's death.
