Police raced to an Edinburgh street earlier today after reports of 'shooting at a house'.Emergency services were called to Greendykes Road, at the Craigmillar Castle Avenue side, at around 10.15am on Thursday, November 2 following a disturbance.

Two police vans have been spotted as a cordon has been erected around a row of houses on the quiet street. The area is taped off and several officers have also been seen standing guard.

Armed officers are also believed to have been scrambled, reports Edinburgh Live. A source informed Edinburgh Live that there was an incident involving a firearm at an address on the road as the scene remains locked down five hours later.

They added: "There were reports of a shooting at a property and officers were called." One eye witness, who was out walking when they came across the incident, said: "I live in the area and was just off on a walk when I saw a road closed sign and a police van with tape across the street.
