North Lanarkshire residents to receive electrical safety checks at properties

Nearly 7500 council tenants across North Lanarkshire will soon begin receiving appointment letters for their properties’ five-yearly electrical safety tests.Quaified inspectors will visit to conduct “vital checks” on the condition of wiring, which can deteriorate or become damaged over time and then cause electric shock, fire and burns.Council officials are highlighting the importance of the tests and urging residents to keep their appointments or reschedule if necessary – noting that the ches are “a legal duty” and that residents must provide access.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
