This was the predicament faced by one woman whose husband had a change of heart about their son's nickname.They had named their boy Daniel, with the intention of affectionately calling him Danny.However, as the child grew, her husband objected to the nickname Danny, deeming it too childish, and began insisting that everyone use his full name instead.
The confused mother took her story to Mumsnet, where she detailed that her two-year-old son, Daniel, has been called both Daniel and Danny since birth.She noted that no one had ever been instructed to exclusively use "the full Daniel," with family members and his nursery often using Danny.The mum revealed: "Now my husband is saying that he always agreed that he could be Danny when little but would be Daniel when older.
He feels Danny is babyish. I do remember when discussing names we liked the idea he would have the option of a nickname or full name but I do not remember ever agreeing on this."She had presumed that as Daniel aged, he would choose his preferred moniker, and they would respect his choice."His speech is nowhere near good enough to communicate that yet.
