Rutherglen and Hamilton West MP Michael Shanks has spoken out after attending the consultation event on the proposals for Shawfield Stadium.The first of two public consultations took place last Thursday for residents to discuss the planning permission to redevelop Shawfield Stadium into homes, a hotel and commercial spaces.

We reported that Shawfield Regeneration Limited’s Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) was put forward earlier this month on October 4, to redevelop the current stadium at Shawfield into a mixed-use development, including residential, hotel and commercial uses, although with 72 constraints ranging from flooding surface water to hazardous installations.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
