The Met Office has issued its latest update on whether snow will hit the UK as the year draws to an end. According to the weather agency, the last few days of 2023 are set to be unsettled with strong wind and rain likely across much of the country.

Snow is likely to feature, the Met Office said, but only in certain areas. The challenging conditions brought by Storm Gerrit, which saw a localised tornado hit Tameside, have now eased.
