The Met Office has issued its verdict on when snow could fall in Greater Manchester next week, as cold arctic air sweeps the country.

Travel across the UK could be disrupted, with cold weather alerts in place as up to 10cm of snow is forecast in some areas. Ahead of the weekend, rather cold but largely dry conditions are predicted, with temperatures dropping below zero for many overnight.

But a northerly airflow will bring cold arctic air to the UK from Sunday onwards. Yellow weather warnings have been put in place for northern Scotland and Northern Ireland, with the former potentially seeing up to 10cm of snow across Sunday and Monday.

Northern Ireland could see up to 5cm of snow on higher grounds, with a few centimetres expected at lower levels. Try MEN Premium now with our amazing New Year offer...
