Met Office warns 'significant snow' possible early next week as weather alerts issued for parts of UK

Parts of the UK are expected to get a 'significant' amount of snow next week, according to forecasters. The latest forecast from the Met Office covering Friday, January 12 to Tuesday, January 16 predicts some spots of unsettled conditions throughout the weekend.

A yellow warning for snow and ice is in place in northern Scotland from 12am to 11.59pm on Monday. Another warning is in place for the whole of Northern Ireland from 12am on Monday to 11.59pm on Monday.
