After a wet and mild summer, claims that Scotland and the rest of the UK may be in for an Indian Summer have been circulating.
Scorching weather at the very start of the season was followed by lots of rain and below average temperatures for much of the country.
And with things starting to look a little more pleasant, talks of an Indian Summer have heated up. The term is often used to describe warm, calm weather in the autumn.
The phrase has been used since the 18th century, with the first description reading: "Sometimes the rain is followed by an interval of calm and warm which is called the Indian summer", according to the Met Office.
