Broxburn Athletic eased into the first round of the Scottish Cup thanks to a clinical second half showing against Lochee United at Albyn Park.After edging a competitive first half but having nothing to show for it, the hosts turned the tie dramatically in their favour with two goals in the opening three minutes after the break.Captain Nick Locke calmly slotted home from 10 yards before Lewis Turner doubled the lead with a fine header moments later to put Athletic in command.United had penalty appeals after Bobby Linn went down in the box waved away just after the hour mark - with the tie being done and dusted barely a minute later as Ross Nimmo's cross was diverted beyond Dean Easton by Locke.The game had all the makings of a decent Scottish Cup preliminary round tie with two top-end tier six sides facing-off but the Brox dominated pretty much from start to finish and were unlucky not to take a 15th minute lead when Turner's effort cleared off the line by a United defender before Locke's cross was nearly deflected beyond his own keeper by Paul Lunnan.Athletic continued to offer more of an attacking threat with Gary Brass at the heart of things for the home side.

His terrific pass found Calum Heath on 32 minutes with the winger's fizzing effort going over the bar while Brass should have given the home side a half-time lead when he thundered a strike off the bar in a congested penalty box.Any fears that they would rue those missed chances were put to bed with a quick-fire double right at the start of the second half as Locke found the bottom corner on 47 minutes before Turner was found unmarked to double the advantage a minute later.United struggled to get any kind of foothold in the game but felt they should have been
