Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.
Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.
Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

The only reason that I was interested in is kind of like, what I was doing,” Matty said on the podcast, hinting at his months-long Taylor romance. “So I think that a lot of artists, they become very interested in their lore, or they become interested in the things that have happened outside of their art that people know about, and they want to address that,” he went on. “And fair enough, do you know what I mean?” While he has written about heartbreak and “all these stories about relationships” in the past, he’s not so keen to do that anymore. “I would kind of just be lying if I made a record about, I don’t know, all the stuff that was said about me or my casual romantic liaisons or whatever it may be that I’ve kind of become known for, just because I was famous,” Matty shared. “I think that that’s an obvious thing to draw from.
And I’m just not interested in it. And I think like, the maintenance of the status quo is something that I always fight against,” he added. “So the idea of making a record about something that personally happened to me, that by the time I put it out is gonna be like two years old, I see people doing that as well, and it’s not interesting.” Matty and Taylor have, of course, both moved on, with him even getting engaged this past summer!
