Manchester United's pursuit of Leny Yoro has hit a snag - much to the disappointment of club legend Rio Ferdinand. Yoro, who was a key figure for Lille last season, making 44 appearances and helping them reach the Europa Conference League quarter-finals, has attracted interest from several top clubs.
His performances led to a reported £43million bid from Paris Saint-Germain, as well as an accepted €65m (£55m) offer from United and a proposal by Champions League winners Real Madrid.
However, it appears Real are now leading the race to sign the French centre-back, which will undoubtedly disappoint Ferdinand.
According to The Athletic, negotiations between Lille and the Spanish giants are advancing, with the Bernabeu seemingly being Yoro's preferred destination.
