Man appears in court after Scots dad dies in motorcycle crash

A 52-year-old man has appeared in court charged with causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving after a Scots dad was killed in a crash.Enrique Zanardi Maffiote, from Tenerife, made no plea at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

He was committed for further examination and released on bail.He will appear in court again at a later date. Dad-of-three Ross James Dominick, from Johnstone, died following the crash around 12pm on Sunday, July 23, on the A82 near Glencoe.

Ross was driving a BMW motorbike when it collided with a Mazda CX5 at the Buachaille Etive Beag car park junction.Sadly, he could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.Police are continuing to appeal for information following the collision.Inspector Scott Deans of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with Ross’ family and friends at this difficult time.“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we would ask anyone with information which has not yet been passed to police to contact us on 101 quoting 1435 of 23 July.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here.
